Your New Role
Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off or 4 days on 3 days off as required
Employment Type: Fixed Term – 2 Years

How You Will Create Impact
- Deliver major capital projects on a brownfields operating mine site; this role is expected to be intimately involved in all stages of the project, from start to finish, including;
- Working with the operations teams to manage day to day construction interfaces within an operating mine site
- Manage and oversee contractor work forces to ensure project is being delivered to scope and quality requirements
- Work with project manager/engineers to plan and support construction and commissioning activities
- Coordinate handover of completed projects to the operations and maintenance teams.
- Coordinate underground construction activity within an operating underground mine by regularly interfacing with the mining contractor and mining engineering teams.
- Providing effective, directive leadership and supervision to a mechanical trade team
- Ensure contractors working on site are compliant with site safety and equipment policies
- Develop close working relationships with all on-site teams including mining, operations, engineering, maintenance and more. We are a small team, these relations are critical to project success.
- Provide quick initiative and decisive solutions; a key part of the project team’s role is to respond to the changing needs of an operational mine site.
What We Value
- Degree qualified in Mechanical engineering; other disciplines may be considered based on experience.
- Experience in mine site construction/commissioning in a client side or EPCM role.
- Experience in the mining sector with a background in any of the following: mineral process plants, materials handling, underground mining.
- Experience with plant commissioning methods and use of commissioning/completions software is desirable.
- Familiarity with project controls principles including scheduling and cost control.
- Experience in multidiscipline engineering design is desirable.
- Experience with planning and scheduling plant shutdown activities is a bonus
- High degree of computer literacy and skills, including interest in learning and developing systems to support project activities.
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards and engineering standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; working with a variety of people such as trades, plant operators and management will be a daily necessity.
- High level of honesty and integrity, a proactive approach to work and a high regard for team culture and team environment.
- Excellent written and oral skills, including fluency in written and spoken English, both conversationally and technical reporting.
- Ability to respond to changing priorities in a positive manner, with excellent time management skills.
