The Role

Location: Site based at Carrapateena

Roster: 8 days on 6 days off; travel 100% on company time from Adelaide or Port Augusta

Reporting to: Senior Engineer – Mine Production

The Engineer – Mine Production is responsible for carrying out operational readiness projects, assisting in establishing necessary production systems and processes for operations, producing drill and blast designs and administering other production related processes.

Key Responsibilities


The Engineer – Mine Production role will focus on ensuring the Carrapateena mine production start-up and ramp-up milestones are delivered on time and on budget. Specifically, this includes:

  • Production readiness projects and the establishment of necessary systems and processes required for operations.
  • Design and coordination of all capital and production drill and blast activities.
  • Reconciliation of blast performance against design, and participation in drill & blast QA/QC audit processes.
  • Developing and embedding the production operational philosophy for the SLC levels.
  • Draw control, secondary break and haulage optimisation projects.
  • Identification and execution of projects aimed at improving the efficiency of operations and effectiveness of designs.
Applicant Requirements


This role requires self-motivated, hands on and values based individual with a desire to deliver best practice outcomes with skills, experience, and personal attributes including:

  • Exposure to Underground production drill & blast systems, including design and process.
  • Underground practical experience completed (at least 12 months).
  • Experience in areas such as mine design and scheduling would be advantageous.
  • Qualification in mining engineering.
  • Exposure to SLC mining method, experience in Deswik software packages and operational readiness projects is desirable.
