We are seeking expression of interest from enthusiastic and innovative mining engineers to join Carrapateena! These roles are part of the Mine Technical and Technology team, where the team is responsible for the key technical and operational functions for the mine. This includes:
- Operations Management
- Continuous Improvement
- Capital Mine Projects (Raiseboring, Civils, Ventilation, Electrical, Technology)
- Production Engineering
- Mine Design
- Scheduling
- Ventilation
- Survey
We provide an environment where there is ample opportunity to be exposed to all of the functions. We currently have openings in Mine Design, Production Engineering and Operations Improvement roles.

Your New Role
Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta))
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off

How You Will Create Impact
Key Tasks (potential requirements, but not limited to):
- Demonstrate safety leadership and contribute to safety audits, checks and compliance activities.
- Compliance reporting of key production metrics to monitor performance and identify schedule threats or opportunities.
- Participation in mine planning processes to ensure accurate forecasting and interaction management.
- Complete general mine engineering tasks to support safe and efficient execution of the mine plan.
- Ensuring drill & blast, development, sequence, or production plans are produced to support mining activity.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control checks are up to date and compliant with policies and procedures.
- Auditing and reconciliation of data inputs to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Ensure compliance to draw control policies and procedures.
- Contribute to and maintain various databases to support mine operations.
- Participate in and/or lead the weekly, monthly, and quarterly mine planning processes for the mine – focusing on interactions between teams and linking the Quarterly Forecast to the Weekly Plan.
- Coordinate and engage planning & design meetings, as well as driving interaction, innovation, and teamwork between various groups.
- Management & stewardship of documentation related to mine design processes and procedures.
- Underground visits with mining and construction teams to support/ensure QA/QC of mine plans.
- Champion the Mine Operating System (MOS) process across all departments and activities on site.
- Communication and engagement with operators, supervisor, and foremen.
- Involvement in short - medium-term project work as required and/or as requested.

Essential:
• Degree qualified Mining Engineer.
• 12 months underground practical experience
Desirable:
• Exposure to production drill and blast design and process.
• Experience in mine planning and scheduling of mining activities and projects.
• Experience in mine design.
• Good understanding of interactions between mining and other site functions such as projects, construction, maintenance, and processing.
• Good working relationship with operational supervisors and coordinators.
• Proficiency with Mine Planning software and experience with scheduling software; preferably Deswik.
• Professional membership in AusIMM.
