Location: Site based at Carrapateena
Roster: 8 days, 6 days off, 7 nights, 7 nights off; travel 100% on company time from Adelaide or Port Augusta
Reporting to: Superintendent - Processing

Key Responsibilities

 

The Supervisor – Concentrator will focus on ensuring the value of Carrapateena is maximised. Specifically, this includes:

 

  • Provide on the job coaching and mentoring for process plant operational staff in the area of safety, process plant operation and other job-related task execution.
  • Foster a strong safety culture based on open and transparent communication with all process plant stakeholders.
  • Support an environment of continuous improvement within the operating teams.
  • Lead the execution of the day to day operational activities to ensure safe and efficient process plant operations at the Carrapateena site which includes concentrator, tailings dam and associated services.
  • Engage with the department technical staff to ensure that product quality and recovery targets are achieved.
  • Interface with other departments on a day to day basis to maximise value across the business chain, including the mine, SOCC and maintenance teams.
  • Implement personalised development plans for staff in your operational team to provide direction and clarity on progression and development.
  • Liaise with Training and Isolation technicians to ensure that operational support activities for maintenance are executed to a high quality and in a timely manner.
  • Develop and approve isolation methods for Operations teams for ad-hoc tasks, whilst adhering to isolations management procedure.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant site procedures and standards of safe work within their area of control.
  • Lead and support investigations into incidents within the department related to safety or business loss.
Applicant Requirements

 

This role requires a values based individual with a desire to deliver best practice outcomes with skills and personal attributes including:
     
•    Significant experience in a minerals processing plant, with specific experience in base metal concentrator operations including grinding, flotation and filtration and thickening.
•    Proven leadership experience at supervisor or leading hand level within a minerals processing environment.
•    Previous experience in training process technicians.
•    Exposure to management of mobile equipment and tailings dam operation preferred.
