Your new role:

As the Senior People & Performance Advisor you are the first point of call for all HR matters, you are responsible for Talent Acquisition as well as maintaining a supporting focus on the Prominent Hill workforce. This permanent flex friendly 4:3 FIFO role is offering an opportunity to work alongside a dynamic, innovative team in actively promoting and executing the continuous improvement, and management of change across Prominent Hill operations. Your main tasks will include:
  • Proactively contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures based on relevant legislation whilst ensuring absolute compliance with ER/IR strategy and legislative requirements
  • Coach managers on complex performance management activities
  • Oversee HR functions such as recruitment, diversity & inclusion and return to work
  • Managing performance, redundancies, terminations and address employee grievances
  • Modernise worker enablement and engagement
  • Support implementation of a well-being plan to support workforce health & wellbeing and engagement in partnership with the Safety team.
You will have:
  • Substantial work experience in Human Resources, preferably within heavy industry – although not essential.
  • Well organised and able to manage multiple deliverables at a time - dynamic, action-orientated, who meets deadlines and makes it happen.
  • Critical thinking, creativity, cultural awareness and decision-making skills are essential. 
  • Demonstrated success in partnering with managers on providing advice on all employment relations matters, equal employment opportunity principles, policies, procedures and in facilitating redundancies and terminations
  • A good understanding of the human resources function, including leave provisions, employee entitlements, probations, onboarding, separation etc.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a diplomatic manner.
