So, what does your new job look like?

Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Social Performance you will be accountable for driving performance across several key areas:

  • Support the operations through advice and leading in the Social Performance strategy which includes working and communicating with stakeholders, supporting cultural heritage management, and delivering for local enterprises, in accordance with the OZ Way Framework and applicable social performance and process standards.
  • Provide technical land access and community relations advice and project management support across the operations, through all phases of the mine life cycle
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders associated with the Prominent Hill Operations, including Traditional Owners, Pastoralists, Community groups, Government, Employees and Suppliers
  • Lead projects and partner with key stakeholder groups to maximise opportunities for ‘local content’ (employment/ training and business development) outcomes for Prominent Hill operations, including recruitment, retention and development of local staff and contract services.
  • Partner with Prominent Hill Teams including the people and transformation, communications and commercial teams to develop and deliver sustainable social performance outcomes.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • A great attitude and ability to partner and collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing social performance initiatives and delivering tangible improvement outcomes for a variety of stakeholders.
  • Sound project management skills, the ability to juggle multiple balls at once and the judgement to quickly shift your focus where required.
  • Understanding of and the ability to to maintain compliance with land access and native title mining agreements, including development of contractual elements and local level agreements relevant to social performance.
  • Relationship building and communication skills which foster the building of trust and support an agile and engaged team environment.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture, family behaviours and community life and an understanding of the other unique relationships and connections various stakeholders have in a remote/regional setting.
  • Risk based thinking and methodologies to identify and respond to threats and realise opportunities for the operations, along with a proven incident/issue resolution competency to identify root causes to problems and resolve them in a timely and value add manner.  
  • Experience in a variety of software, online tools and methodologies to drive efficiencies for our team and deliver outcomes.
