The Role

We are looking for a great Processing Specialist to join our Plant Operations team. This is a permanent position based at Prominent Hill reporting to the Processing Shift Supervisor and is responsible for providing assistant leadership and management for the Cu Concentrator Processing Shifts. This role will help develop and implement strategies and processes and provide leadership support to drive safety, continuous improvement, production, training, environmental and cultural awareness cost effectively. 

You will deliver:

  • Operate all disciplines of the Plant: crusher, grinder, flotation, filtration, utilities, control room and paste plant. 
  • Act as a relief shift supervisor and assist in decision making ensuring OZ Minerals HWWT principles are upheld. Manage teams in the absence of the supervisor. 
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal safety commitment by modelling the desired behaviours. Coach the team to always stop and think about all tasks. 
  • Assist in the achievement of production KPI’s and targets (e.g. Copper metal). 
  • Ensure quality output in all operational areas is maintained and assist troubleshooting issues in the day-to-day operation of the plant. 
  • Train and coach team members in work practices for continual improvement and knowledge to maximise safety and production. 

You will have:

  • Excellent leadership behaviours; leading teams by example while building and sustaining a constructive and positive culture.
  • Ability to balance priorities to achieve production, maintenance, people development and reporting targets. 
  • Demonstrated depth of experience in Plant Processing/Operations and some level of leadership within that period.
  • Establishes and maintains productive relationships; works collaboratively to achieve results.
